I’m not really sure what to talk about with this quote. Other than I think it’s interesting and it’s another one to add to my motivation board in my office.
I do love the last part. I know plenty of interesting people and ‘enchanting’ is a perfect way to describe them. I work at a nursing home and some of the more mobile residents sit out in the courtyard while I’m on my lunch break. Sometimes, I’ll spend the entire time listening to them share stories. And, 30 or 45 minutes is not enough time to hear all they have to say. One lady told me all about the trips she went on after her divorce. Her passion was living her life and creating experiences she would remember for years to come. Before I knew it, my alarm went off and I had to go back to work but I’m going to ask her to tell me more another day.
And, when someone shares a similar passion to what you’re pursuing, it not only makes them more interesting but it can be the basis for lasting friendships. My best friend from high school is also a talented writer. We would spend hours in school creating off-the-wall stories, sometimes late into the night. And, while she has other obligations right now and can’t work on her own writing, she’s always willing to help me with mine. I know I can come to her with scene ideas. I can send her snippets from a chapter or a storyline and see if it works or if I have to tweak some details. She’ll offer suggestions or tell me if something needs to be completely scrapped.
