January 2022 Monthly Goals

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Here we are. It’s the start of a new year. All of the (cautious) optimism that comes with a fresh start. I’ve already shared my broad goals for the year and how I’ve broken them down for the quarter. So, how is the further breakdown for just January going to go?

1) Series planning- Going to devote at least half this month to making more notes on books that have already been drafted and ideas to come so I have an idea of where the story has been and where it needs to go.
2) The second half of January will be reviewing feedback and finishing book 1 self-edits before I coordinate with the editor. By then, I’ll have a little more flexibility financially so I can pay them and be one step closer to release! I’m still planning on launching first on Vella but that will be watched very closely. I don’t think Amazon is doing a very good job promoting this platform so I, honestly, don’t know how long it’ll last. So, I’m not going to depend on it. I think the idea of the platform is great and they could do a lot with it… I just haven’t seen anything happen that has me really excited. And, you’d think something would after being up for 6 months now. Ah well.
3) Reestablish my Twitch streaming schedule- the holidays made things crazy to say the least. And, I think I only did 1 livestream this month and it was playing Sims. So, I would like to get back to my twice a week while Peanut is at daycare plan. That might change when she goes to preschool, which could be after her birthday depending on what we work out between the district and one of her speech therapy programs. But, until then, I really hope I can stream enough and get the last few followers I need to hit Affiliate!
4) Figure out tax stuff- I’m used to dealing with just my day job paycheck but in the last few months of 2021, I got money for writing. Whaaa?? So, I need to reach out to our tax lady and say “Help! How do?”

That’s what I have for January. I’ll be back on Monday with my weekly goals. Have a safe weekend, everyone.
