World Anvil 1st Attempt… Meh

In December, I participated in WorldEmber, one of the challenges held by World Anvil. Write 10,000 words in a month. Sounds easy, right? I do NaNoWriMo and that’s 5X the wordcount. But…

The thing is there is a big difference in writing a novel and coming up with all the backstory and world building stuff. I learned that when I did the World Building summer camp in July. The minimum count for each article had to be 300 words before it could count and that was a struggle! So, I wasn’t sure how well this event would be but I wanted to give it a try.

I hit about 72% which wasn’t too bad for my first attempt. It was almost all character profiles because that came easiest most of the time. I wrote about 3,000 words in the first few days and then did not touch it until just before Christmas where I hit just over 5,000 and then a mad dash just before the end of the year to see how far I could get.

So, to use the motto of most of Ohio Sports, “Better luck next year!”

I have a video in the works this week. Not sure when I can get it up but I will have it up this week. And, there’s my weekly goals post tomorrow. So, I’ll talk to you then!
