Sorry I haven’t added an update in a while, everyone. I started a new job and life got kinda crazy getting all the things in order. I had orientation last week and I’m in training now so adjusting to my new schedule has been a trip. But, I’m working on getting into a routine and will be better about posting a bit more regularly once again.

Anyway, I’m continuing to expand on book 1 once again. My goal word count is 65,000 words from 51,000. Right now, I’m going through and making notes on a printed manuscript before going back in and actually adding anything. I have the first couple chapters done in terms of notes and I’m making my way through the rest in the coming days when I’m off work.

Why am I expanding my manuscript again, you ask? Well, something kept nagging at me that I was missing something in the story. So, I’m going through to see if I can find the missing link and work it in. Then, hopefully, it will make the rest of the series easier to write. And then, I will feel more confident about sending it to an editor to prepare for publication. I’ll be doing the same to book 2 as well.

As for the 3rd book and beyond, I’m still figuring that out. I want to finalize the first 2 before I can concentrate on the 3rd. Sequels are hard! I want to have at least 10 books in this series. I need to have a day where I put everything away except my notebook and brainstorm everything I want to happen in each book and the series over all so I can just focus on writing and not planning and re-planning.

If anyone out there is also writing a series, what are some tips you can share? Finding reliable books on the subject are few and far between. And, it’s a neglected AuthorTube topic. Help!
