W.O.C. Wednesday Jan. 31, 2018

Hello everyone!

How is your week going? It’s the end of January. HOLY CRAP! Ah!! One month of the new year already gone! So are our new years resolutions to diet, declutter the garage, stop biting our fingernails, and whatever else… unless you’re one of the minority who can actually stick to your resolutions for more then 3 weeks. In which I say, good for you! And, what is your secret?

This week I’m focusing on more queries. Updating my list of agents, marking down the 2 rejections I’ve received thus far. Found a few names in the mile high stack of books I borrowed from the library. Also got some books on refining the query letter. That will certainly come in handy.

I’m also going to be starting a new series on my blog on Fridays. We’ve got W.O.C. Wednesdays. Pretty self explanatory if you’ve been following me for any length of time. I started the Author Answers on Thursdays. And this week will begin “Feature Fridays.” I’ll be featuring an author or artist each week with their social media links, art pages, Etsy shops, YouTube channels, whatever. I know several so I’ll be able to get a good start. Not sure if it’ll be every week or every other. I’ll probably start every other until I get more names. So, if you know someone, comment with at least their website or a social media link and I will check them out. I wanted to do this because there is such an overabundance of negativity, especially online. One of the worst things an artist or author can do is tear down another creator. They’re hurting no one but themselves. I was inspired by the Strike-Back-Videoathon on YouTube that Booktubers and Authortubers are doing to life up smaller channels before the new monetization rules kick in later February. Why not do it year-round?

Need to get back to work now. Keep an eye out for the new post series coming this Friday.

Have a great rest of your week. Thanks for reading!

Carey
