2017 In Review

Me and Hubby laughing about… something ridiculous probably.

As the year draws to a close and I look forward to my goals of the new, I also look back on what 2017 was for me.

Uneventful in terms of my writing goals. I had been working with an unreliable editor for the second edition of my novel. On her advice, I pulled my book from Amazon resulting in 0 sales this year which was really stupid. But, I did beef up my manuscript mostly on my own and decided to test the waters of the query process. We’ll see what happens in that regard in the coming months.

I have still been working on my series. That’s a never ending project for me. I’m editing and adding to the second book and I’ll be jumping back into 3 and beyond once that’s done. If I am able to nail down a coherent outline, I could have the first draft done for Camp NaNoWriMo in April.

Lots of things happened outside of writing that were pretty wonderful, though. I got married and we had an incredible honeymoon in Toronto. A friend from church and one of my cousins also tied the knot this year and we were able to share in the celebrations.

One of my close friends from college discovered she was pregnant as did my sister. I’m going to be an aunt!! My friend is due in April and my sister is due in May. And I’m trying to be right behind them.

The holidays came and went with lots of laughs and even more good food.

So many memories were made this year and I feel like 2018 can only get better. I have so much I want to accomplish in the coming year with my writing and hopefully have a growing family in the works.

Talk to you all next week!
Carey
