Weekly Goals- Week starting Oct 11, 2021

Well, hello! Here we are again. I am sorry I have not been sharing my weekly goals lately. I’ve had a lot going on in my life that I have been sharing in my “Misadventures of a Mom Author.” But, I’m going to try and get back at it now. They’re also on my Ko-Fi page for everyone to read every Monday. You can also read my Misadventures project if you are a financial supporter on Ko-Fi. It’s available weekly on Amazon Vella, their serialized platform, but I also placed it on Ko-Fi because I understand people don’t want to support Amazon. So, whatever you are able to give, as I haven’t figured out tiers yet.

A brief catch up on what’s been going on before we get into this week’s goals.

Some of you already know from what I’ve said on social media. But, we recently lost my dad after a long illness. Spending all the time I could with him, helping my mom with final arrangements, as well as trying to manage things at home with Hubby, life got crazy and writing did not happen. After we had his funeral, I was surprised at the urge I had to get back into writing again. And yet, not surprised. Writing has always been my go-to coping mechanism for all kinds of things. I’ve kept a diary since I was in the 5th grade. So, that weekend, I brought some things with me to my weekend job and started working. It felt energizing and wonderful. It started slow. Peanut and Hubby were still getting over really bad colds and I was fighting not to catch it as well. Last Monday, the 4th, we sent her back to daycare and I got to work.

Throughout all of last week, I worked on my notes for book 1. I finished Friday night. My plan was to apply those changes over the course of Saturday and Sunday and get them to my beta readers. But, I got into this crazy flow and knocked out all 18 chapters in a day! And then I went to the library to print the draft out so I could mark the notes from betas when I got them. I’ve never been able to edit on the computer. I have to write down all my notes.

So, that leads us to this week. What’s in store?

Well, it’s going to take some time to get feedback from beta readers. So, I am jumping into book 2. I know from what I’ve reviewed that this is going to require some more work. I have a few more gaps to fill in. Although, I’ve worked on that book for years so it shouldn’t be too bad. Books 3 and 4 will require the most work when I get there. But, I’ll worry about that then.

Monday, I am joined my friend, Glory, on her YouTube channel to talk about Sci-fi and Fantasy. On Wednesday and Friday, I usually join my friend, Charlie, on their Twitch channel, for a writing stream. I haven’t decided yet if I want to do a stream this week. I do need to get my time back up on Twitch and trying to hit that 50 follower mark so I can reach Affiliate status.

“Misadventures of a Mom Author” continues to be uploaded to Kindle Vella. I’m scheduled well through December with 25 episodes. But, for those who do not want to support Amazon, I mentioned you can read it on Ko-Fi as a supporter perk as soon as I type it up.

Well, I better get to work! These books aren’t going to edit themselves. We’ll see how I do in the coming days and I’ll check in again next Monday.
