Kindle Vella goes live next week! And I have a story!
What is Kindle Vella, you ask? It’s Amazon’s new service for serialized books. Right now, it is just text but I’m holding out for when they allow images because this would be a great market for comic books. It officially goes live next week so it will be available to readers.
I have one work currently scheduled with 2 “episodes” ready to go when the platform goes live with many more on the way. And, in early 2022, I’ll be releasing my fiction series.
My current work is called “Misadventures of a Mom Author.” It’s the same title as my monthly vlog on YouTube. But, this is a kind of journal documenting my writing process while juggling parenting life. I started writing it in January with the intent to publish farther down the line but then I heard about Vella a couple months ago.
Another thing about this platform is that you can compile your work as long as it’s a minimum of 10 “episodes” and you can publish wide. So, if I publish book 1 of my series 1 at a time, it has 18 chapters. 30 days after the last chapter goes live, I can put it all together and have the physical copies available.
