My favorite of the series! Book 2 in the Circle Trilogy by Nora Roberts. The action really picks up in this one. The focus characters are Larkin, a nobleman from a fairy tale world who has the power to shape shift, and Blaire, a demon hunter with a rough past.
Everything is ramping up in this second installment, getting ready for the ultimate battle in book 3. Our Circle of 6 chosen by the goddess, Morrigan, travels to Larkin and Moira’s world to gather an army and go to war for the first time ever in the nation’s history. Relationships grow stronger. We learn more about everyone, including Lilith, the vampire queen, and her followers.
Larkin is my favorite character. He’s sweet and charming, very handsome. His power is pretty amazing as a shape-shifter.
I can’t say much more because spoilers. I will say, if you can get the box set of all 3 books, do it and binge read. They’re sold in mass market paperback size. They’re a fast read just because you’ll get sucked into the story.
