Book Review: Morrigan’s Cross

I’ve been reading again! Woo! So, I decided to reread one of my favorite trilogies. “The Circle Trilogy” by Nora Roberts is a wild ride with everything you could ever want in a fantasy story. Witches, sorcerers, vampires, fairy tale worlds, dragons, knights, epic battles, romance, drama, just all the things!

I’m not going to go much into the plot because I think everyone should read this series. And, for books 2 and 3, I’d be venturing into Spoiler territory.

The first book in the series is called “Morrigan’s Cross.” The story is about a group of 6 people called by the goddess Morrigan to battle the queen of the vampires. Hoyt, a medieval sorcerer, Cian, his brother and a vampire, Glenna, a modern day witch, Blaire, a demon hunter and distant descendant of Hoyt and Cian through their sister, and Larkin and Moira, a princess and shape-shifting nobleman from a fairy tale world. Each book focuses on a pair, although you do catch glimpses to get to know the whole group.

The writing is the usual mastery that comes from Nora Roberts. A perfect balance of story and sexy times. Believable chemistry in the characters. Even the vampires are developed and interesting.

I’ve read this trilogy so many times I’ve had to replace my books. The audio book is also excellent.

It had been so long since I was able to read something. Getting back into this series felt so good. Like meeting an old friend.
