How I Spend My Weekends

Hello everyone,

It’s another week. I got a bit of a later start because Little Bits was fussing this morning. But, I’ve got my smoothie and my podcasts playing and I’m ready to get to work.

This week, I’m talking about how I spend my weekends. I’m only talking about the weekends I have off. Every other weekend I work as a front desk receptionist at a nursing home. I leave early in the morning, work my shift, come home, and spend the rest of the day with Joe and the baby. Sometimes we’ll go visit family.

My off weekends are my times to sleep in. During the week, I’m up between 4 and 5 to work in my office until Baby Girl wakes up. Weekends I’ll sleep until about 7. I’ll have breakfast with Joe, shower, and get bottles ready for the day. By 8 or so, we hear the cries of a hungry tiny human.

I’ll get her changed and fed and we’ll spend the morning playing while Joe does whatever tasks he wants to do around the house. He’s been working in the basement setting up his office space. It used to be in the room that is now the baby’s room. He also goes grocery shopping on weekends. In the afternoons, I’ll shut myself away in my office and try to knock out a couple hours of work. Writing, drafting blog posts, any administrative work I missed in the week. I also have a special project I’m working on starting in February. More on that soon.

After my time is up, I clock back in as Mom. Weekends, whether I work or not, are pretty laid back. It’s winter so we can’t go to the park or anything like that just yet. I do want to have friends over soon or host an occasional game night but I’m not making anyone drive when it’s this lovely rain/snow mix we’ve got right now. Around 8:00, we have our bedtime routine. Jammies, read a story, and final bottle. Since Baby Girl has reflux, we can’t lay her down right away after eating so I’ll rock her to sleep for about 10-15 minutes and then put her in her crib. By this time, I’m exhausted. I crawl into bed and watch some YouTube or attempt to read before bed. I’m usually out by 10:00.

I know, this is super exciting. Like I said, once the weather improves, we’ll be able to do some more things. I’m hoping to do a few weekend vlogs on my YouTube channel in addition to my weekly vlogs.
