Podcast Review: The History Chicks

I listen to a lot of podcasts. Like, a looot. I’m subscribed to 28. I listen to some more than others. Some I have to hear when they come out. Some I let add up and then binge. But, I try to start all of them from the beginning if I can.

One I’ve been binging lately is the History Chicks. It’s a historical podcast focusing on women throughout history. They’re prominent leaders like Catherine the Great, those cast as background characters but still had a massive impact like Catherine of Aragon or Eleanor of Aquitaine, and those history has cast in a not so positive light but need the full story told like Mary Lincoln or Marie Antoinette.

Each episode is usually about an hour. Some go longer. Some are split into two episodes. It’s well researched and the hosts, Susan and Beckett, present each episode in a laid back, entertaining way. They even provide sources so you can learn on your own about all these fascinating ladies. There’s a huge backlog of episodes but I’ve flown through in a matter of weeks. Look it up on iTunes and have fun!
