Well, hello there!
It’s so good to be back writing again. These past 9 months have been insane to say the least. But, things are starting to form the new normal and I’ll be getting out new content soon.
But, what’s kept me away for so long? Well, if you follow me on social media, you’ll know I was pregnant. But, what I didn’t mention was I had a very rough pregnancy. I had a lot of health issues that I won’t go into details of. Long story short, I had 2 hospital stays and by beautiful baby girl came 11 weeks early, weighing a whopping 1 lb, 11 oz and 12 1/2 inches long. This was followed by 103 days in the Cleveland Clinic NICU. She’s been home about 3 weeks now and it’s been an adjustment period for all of us. Doctor appointments, home care visits, just getting her used to sleeping at night for a couple hours in between bottles.
As we figure out a routine, I’m trying to find time to write and plan content. It won’t be as frequently as it used to be. I’m basically fitting in things while she naps or when my husband lets me have a couple hours in the office in the evening. As she gets older, I may be able to work something out for more frequent work time. Right now, my little girl is my top priority so I’m hoping you can understand.
I’m also hoping that, since things are settling down, I’ll be able to focus more on my series. I’m going to be rereading the manuscripts of my first 2 books to refresh my memory and then continuing with book 3 and beyond. If I can get a good start, then I can focus on edits and publication for a while. I’d like to be at least a couple drafts in through book 5 before I start working on publication plans. Then, I have somewhat of a backlog I can edit and spread out release before continuing writing. This will give me time to find an editor, really research my self-publishing options, and have a marketing plan.
